Fall Festivities

I almost forgot to post about the fall festivities that we did. My sister Sabrina, her husband Eric and their girls visited at the beginning of October. While they were visiting we went to Thanksgiving Point to go to the petting zoo. Emily and two of her kids came with us too. Even though Carter was only 5 months I think he still had fun. His favorite thing was the carriage ride. He loved looking around at everything.

Matt and I were lame this year and decided not to dress up, but we did dress Carter up. We couldn't not. Especially since it was his first Halloween and all. We dressed him up as a monkey. The weather was perfect. It was a little cool but the sun was shining. A perfect fall day. We went trunk-or-treating with Tony, Emily and the kids. Gwen was so funny. I was holding her hand taking her to each trunk and she saw Mr. Potato Head and turns to me and says "I don't want that candy!" with a really concerned look on her face. I told her that it was just Mr. Potato Head and that he is nice. She slowly walked up to him and as soon as he gave her candy she hurry and walked off. Oh how I love kids!

We finally were able to get our family pictures taken in October by Camilla Peterson. She is a girl that I went to High School with. It ended up being the perfect time because we went up Mayfield Canyon and all of the leaves had changed on the trees. I thought she did a good job and I just have to show them off :) We finally were able to get our family pictures taken in October

Girl's Weekend

In September a lot of my sister's and sister-in-laws went to St. George to get a way and to enjoy time with just us ladies. It was so much fun catching up with everyone. The first day we went shopping a lot..! That night my niece Sophie babysat my niece Reagan and Carter. I was a little worried to leave him, but she did an awesome job of taking care of him. It was also nice for me to get away for a little bit. While Sophie was babysitting we went to the Tuachan (spelling?) Its an outdoor play. The play we saw was Greece. It was so-o good! The next day we went out for lunch and did a little bit of shopping and then we headed back home.

Sadie's 1st Birthday

Carter and I flew out to Vegas to spend some time with my sister Sabrina. Carter was awesome on the plane and the people on the plane with us were very nice and helpful. It's hard flying alone with a baby when you don't have any help to carry luggage. Luckily everything went well. Sabrina and I did a lot of shopping to get things ready for Sadie's party. To give us a little break we went swimming with their ward. While we were there we also celebrated my niece's first birthday. My mom and my sister brought Matt down later that week so they could celebrate with us.

Fun in Colorado Springs

In August Matt and I were able to visit our cousins Grace and Abe Payne. We had so much fun visiting them. It was a lot of fun catching up with them because it had been a while since we saw them. Abe is in the army so they live at Fort Carson. It was fun looking around Post and to see what it is like for the Army. Since Abe had to work most of the time while we were there Grace took Matt, Carter and me to go see Garden of the God's. It was really neat to see the red rock formations shooting from the ground since Colorado is so green. We also went miniature golfing and to Denver. Abe and Grace were very sweet and treated us to the Cheesecake Factory in Denver. It was much fun spending time with them.

This rock formation is called the "Kissing Camels" if you look at the top of the rock it kind of looks like two camels are kissing.

Baby Blessing

Carter was blessed on July 31, 2011. It was a special day not only for Carter but for our niece Afton. It just happened to be her birthday. We were sad that Afton and Sabrina couldn't come to his blessing, but it was still a special day. My mom, my brother Tony and my little sister were able to come. Matt's parents and his siblings were able to come and share this special day with us. I truely am blessed with my family. They all really mean a lot to me and want them to know that I love them very much!

Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas to visit my sister Sabrina and my brother Steve. It was Carter's first time out of the state. While we were there we went to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and we went to the Cactus Garden. We had a lot of fun visiting our family there. Sabrina's daughter, Afton, loves Carter. She wanted to hold him every chance she got. She always calls him "Baby Carter."

Carter's First Vacation to Grandma West's House

We took a trip to my parents house to go to my brother's wedding. Unfortunately i wasn't able to get any pictures of the wedding. While we were at my parents house Carter was able to meet some of my siblings for the first time, Steve & Kjerstin, Sabrina & Sadie, Mike & Tristin.
